BLACK, BETTY I.– The death of Mrs. Betty Ilene (McPhee) Black of Saint John, NB, occurred on Saturday, February 8, 2003 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Margaret (Keddy) McPhee. Betty had been employed with General Electric for 28 years, and later with Hoppers, from where she retired in 1991. She was a graduate of Saint John High School. Betty was the Past-President, Ladies Division of the Hampton Golf Club, and was a former member of the Carleton Curling Club. Betty lived for dancing and music, and thoroughly enjoyed reading.
She is survived by two brothers, Malcolm Daniel (Linda) McPhee of Saint John, and Donald William Southard McPhee of Hannibal, New York, two nieces, Cate McPhee of Saint John, and Marilyn McPhee of Saudi Arabia, three nephews, William (Linda) McPhee of Saint John, Terry (Cathy) McPhee of Miramichi, and Jeffrey (Trina) McPhee of Saint John, seven great-nieces and nephews, Tricia, Laura, Tristan, Mark, Michael, Josie, and Andrew, as well as a special friend, Ruby McPhee. She was predeceased by her parents, Angus and Margaret McPhee.
