Richard Graham, Transportation Pioneer, Dies Richard Nelson Graham, a pioneer in development of modern urban transportation, died at Fort Pierce Memorial Hospital Saturday at the age of 88. The retired chairman of the board of the Youngstown, Ohio, Municipal Roadway Company, he began to winter in Fort Pierce in 1917, and 11 years ago make this city his permanent home. His residence was at 736 S. 18th St. Mr. Graham, born in Jackson, Ohio, joined the Youngstown railway system in 1916, and by 1951 had expanded to ownership or control of transportation services in Akron, Springfield, Illinois., and six other major eastern and southern cities. He received many awards for his innovation of urban transport, abandoning steel rails and introducting rubber-tired coaches and hoses, a practice now followed by almost every American city. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church here, and a life member of B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 55 of Youngstown. He leaves his widow, Alice W. Graham of Fort Pierce; a son, Harold Graham of Greenville, Pa.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Allen of Phoenix, Ariz, and Mrs W. B. Anderson and Mrs Ruth Steffy, both of Youngstown; 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Richard Nelson Graham, 88, of 716 12th St., Fort Pierce, died Saturday. He is survived by his widow; Alice W. ; one son, three daughter, 15 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Shriver-Allison Funeral Home Chapel in Youngstown, Ohio, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon, Pa.
