LEETONIA –
Henry Thomas “Hank” Wining, 80, of Pearl Street, died at 8:39 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010. at his home.
Mr. Wining was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Columbiana, a son of the late Clarence and Alma Breyer Wining and had lived in this area all of his life. Henry worked as a machinist for Wean Inc. in Austintown for 22 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to that he worked for Columbiana Cylinder Grinding.He was a member of the Benjamin Firestone Post #290, American Legion, Columbiana.
He is survived by his wife, the former Virginia Louise Steffy, whom he married Oct. 20, 1950; two daughters, Jeanette (James) Tait-Wolosyn of Boardman and Phyllis Keylor of Columbiana; a daughter-in-law, Zosimar Susie Wining of Katy, Texas; three sons, Dennis (Vicki) Wining and Peter Wining, both of Leetonia, and Robert Wining of Alpine, Calif.; a sister, Betty Wright of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Clarence “Pete” (Marlene) Wining of East Palestine; seven grandchildren, Dinah Umboh, Robert Wining, Joseph Speer, James, Aaron and Dwight Wining and Dustin Keylor; and five great-grandchildren, Casey and Gavin Umboh, Melanie, James and Isabella Wining. A son, William Henry Wining; two sisters, Evelyn Brittain and Nellie Whinery preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana, with Charles Hamilton officiating. Benjamin Firestone Post #290 will accord military honors at the conclusion of the service. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Leetonia. Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
