Phyllis Gwendolyn Ferguson (1932-2017)
It is with great sadness that the family of
Phyllis Ferguson of Saint John, cherished wife of the late John "Mac" Ferguson announces her passing, which occurred on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Kennebec Manor. Born on June 24, 1932 in Jemseg, she was the daughter of the late Wendell and Melba (Todd) Dykeman.
Phyllis devoted her life to caring for her family and always treasured the times spent with those she loved. She loved to bake and was well known for her dill and mustard pickles and various jams. For many years, Phyllis volunteered with the NB Competitive Festival of Music, served as a Beaver Leader with the Lancaster Beavers and spent hours as a Choir Mother. She will be greatly missed.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Peter (Kathy), Grant (Andrea Carson), Paul (Kim MacQuarrie) and Jane Machum (Grant); brothers, Carl and Clinton; sisters, Helen and Anna; grandchildren, Amy, Jill, William, Chloe, John, Arthur, Henry, Alexander, Amelia and Mary; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Walter and sisters, Gladys, Patricia and Leita.
Phyllis’ family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of Kennebec Manor for the exceptional care that they provided to her.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held from St. Mark’s United Church, 50 Dexter Drive, West Saint John on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or a charity of the donor’s choice. www.BrenansFH.com
