Helen Dorothy Orchard (née Davidson), 87, of 960 St. George Blvd (People’s Park Towers), passed away at the Moncton Hospital on July 26, 2002.
Born in Moncton on January 16, 1915, she was the daughter of Stewart and Myrtle Davidson (nee Bigley). Residing most of her life in Moncton, she was a graduate of Moncton High School, member of St. John’s United Church and Past Noble Grand of Pearl Rebecca Lodge #9. Helen was employed for many years with the Unemployment Insurance Commission in Moncton.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Barbara Law (Ron) of Calgary, AL, Frances Stewart, Halifax, NS, Fred Orchard (Ethel) of Florence, KY; 3 sisters-in-law; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Stewart in 1938, her husband of 56 years, Oswald Frederick in 1992 and a brother, Leonard Davidson in 1991.
The will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Service, conducted by Rev. Eldon Hay, will be held on Monday, July 29th at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, (852-3530) 1177 Salisbury Rd, Moncton, followed by a reception in the Family Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial tributes in Helen Orchard’s name be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital.
