The death of
R. Allison MacNabb of Woodstock, husband of M. Ruby (Monteith) MacNabb, occurred on Friday, July 16, 2004 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital following a period of failing health. Born in Fredericton on October 21, 1921, he was the son of the late J. Roy and Chrissie (Hinchey) MacNabb. Allison graduated from Fredericton High School in 1939. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following his wartime service, Allison was an insurance adjustor for many years.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, Allison is survived by his children J. Allison (Pam) MacNabb of Red Deer, AB, Mary Ann (Charles) Walker of Woodstock, P. Diane (Jeff) Foreman of Woodstock, and Andrew (Tampy) MacNabb of Fort McMurray, AB; nine grandchildren Kathleen and Phillip MacNabb, Brock and Janna Walker, Teague and Kyle Foreman, and Shawn, Zachery, and Justin MacNabb; his brother Carl MacNabb of Fredericton, his sisters Ethel Livingstone of Fredericton, Dorothy (Bob) McMonagle of New Maryland, and Jean (Eugene) MacLean of Fredericton, aunts Bessie MacNabb of Fredericton, Grace Flinn of Fredericton, and Ellen McMillin of Rhode Island, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred Snyder will officiate, with interment to take place in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.
