McIntyre, Evelyn Loretta – On January 13, 2007
Evelyn Loretta McIntyre passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at her residence of Meadow Valley Manor, Quispamsis N.B. Born November 15, 1911 in Fox Point, N.S. She was the wife of the late Frederick H. McIntyre and daughter of the late Frank H. and Loretta (Ackles) Allen. She resided in East Saint John before moving to Rothesay. In 2000 Evelyn moved to Loch Lomond Villa High-rise and most recently to Meadow Valley Manor. For many years she wintered in Largo, Florida. Evelyn was a member of the Silver Falls United Church and was very active in her younger years in Politics with the P.C. Party, was a member of Dr. Collins Aux. Legion, a Board Member of the Old County TB Hospital and the Municipal Home. Evelyn was a member of the Orange Lodge on Regent Street, employed by the Provincial Gov’t. Driver’s examiner and Law Enforcement, and the Dr’s Association on the Loch Lomond Road. Evelyn was a life member of the Quispamsis Senior Citizens and loved to play bridge, write skits and poetry. Many will remember Evelyn for her wonderful sense of humor and her zest for life.
Survived by her children Marilyn Craft (Perry), Barbara Freeze- Dickie (Everett) and Debbie McIllwraith (Douglas) all of Rothesay, and one son Vaughn McIntyre (Mary Elizabeth) of St. Andrews, N.B. Eleven Grandchildren, twenty-two Great Grandchildren, three Great Great Grandchildren, and sister Marion Hurley of Montreal. Predeceased by brothers Frank, Thurston, Reginald, sisters Alice Ivester, Minnie Whitaker and son-in-law Ronald (Bud) Freeze.
