      FYNN, ANDREW. – After a short illness, Andrew Fynn, husband of the late Linda (Brown) Fynn, passed away peacefully at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing on Friday, May 8, 2009. He was born on December 21, 1915 at Magherafelt, Northern Ireland to the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Dobbin) Fynn. Andrew was in the infantry with the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. He served as a private, overseas in France and Germany. After the war, Andrew worked at T. S. Simms Ltd. for 33 years.
       He is survived by eight children: Mary Galbraith (Neil), Joy O’Brien, Jack, Glenn (Donna) and Elizabeth Durant (Trevor) all of Saint John, NB, Kenneth (Joyce) of Ottawa, ON, Calvin (Trish) of Surrey, BC and Cathy Fynn (Peter) of Sackville, NB; two sisters: Mary Flowers of Fredericton, NB and Sarah Smith of Hampton, NB; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Andrew was predeceased by a son Frederick; brother Henry Finn and a sister: Nancy Wilson.
       At Andrew’s request there is no visitation. The funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 2:30 pm. For those who wish, remembrances to the Salvation Army or the Romero House Soup Kitchen would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
