PITTSFIELD - E. Barbara Watkins, 78, died yesterday at Concord Hospital following a long illness.
She was born in Portsmouth, the daughter of Henry and Maude (Forrence) Erickson. She had been a Pittsfield resident for the past 44 years.
She worked at the Globe Manufacturing Company in Pittsfield for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the New Voice Club and spent time speaking at Concord Hospital and the University of New Hampshire. She was also a volunteer for the Clothes Closet in Pittsfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Watkins; and two children, Marc Watkins and Cheryl Watkins.
Survivors include a son, Robert Watkins of Barnstead; a daughter, Judy Williamson of Nashua; four granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; a sister, Martha Cournoyer of Portsmouth; and many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Perkins Funeral Home, 60 Main St., Pittsfield. The Rev. Charles Paige-Morgan, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate.
