      LLOYD, OLIVE HELEN/ – 89, Prospect, Kings, NS died peacefully with family at her side January 21, 2003 at the Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville, NS. Born in New Ross, NS September 14, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Clara (Levy) Walker. She had been a resident of Fundy Villa in Berwick, NS for the past three years. After graduating from high school, she taught school and then studied nursing. Olive was a sensitive and caring mother and grandmother. She was proud of and devoted to her children and found delight in their activities and accomplishments. She had a keen sense of humour and provided family and friends with many laughs over the years. She was a very generous person who was always there when anyone needed a helping hand. Olive was loved by all who knew her. She was very active in the Women’s Institute, and during World War II was very active with the Red Cross efforts. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Anthony’s Church, Berwick, NS. Olive was keenly interested in genealogy, and wrote and published "A History of Prospect" in 1975.
       She is survived by sons, Donald (Elizabeth) Lloyd, Ottawa, Raymond (Donna) Lloyd, Saint John, Willis Lloyd, Toronto, and daughters Ada (James) Covan, Pensacola, FL, Joan (Colin) Wortley, Kingston, ON and Mary (Robert) McDonald, Coldbrook, NS; grandchildren Jo-Ann Pinkston, Kim (Travis) Robertson, Kevin (Lyne) Lloyd, Krista (Ronald) Michaud, Andrew (Colleen) Lloyd, Janet (Christopher) Clinton, Heather Lloyd, Jennifer (Mark) Langille, Tara (Christopher) McDonald, Steven (Susan) Wortley, Laura McDonald, Paula (Dale) Brow, Janice (George) Van Campen, 17 great grandchildren, brother Joseph Walker, sisters Anna Cormier, Kathleen Power and Gladys MacKinnon.
       She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years J.Elmer Lloyd, brothers Clement, Sherman, Melvin, Archibald, and Carroll, her son-in-law James Pinkston and her daughter-in-law Bonnie Lloyd.
       Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm with prayers to be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2003 in the W.C.Hiltz/White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, NS. (902) 678-3339. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, NS, Father Craig Christenson officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville, NS. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to St. Anthony’s Parish Church in Berwick, NS, the Bonnie Lloyd Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Ray Lloyd, 17 Ray St. Saint John, N.B. E2K 2K3, or the charity of your choice.
