      Susan Patricia Pickett, (Libby) (Hoyt), passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013 in Moncton Hospital after a long illness.
       She was born in Halifax on December 24, 1949, eldest daughter of Charles Keith Hoyt and Patricia Margaret (Page) Hoyt. She graduated from Dalhousie University with a B.A (Honours in French) in 1972 and Master of Library Science in 1978. After graduation she began working at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography as a Contract Cataloging Librarian followed by Information Services Librarian from 1979 to 1983. In 1984 she moved to Moncton, New Brunswick to take on the position of Librarian at the Moncton Hospital until retirement in 2005. Susan had a lifelong passion for knitting and all manner of needlework that she maintained up until the final 2 weeks of her life. Her skill and devotion were exceptional. Her hardanger stitching work was recently exhibited at the Moncton public library and she was voted 2011 Stitcher of the Year by the Chickadee chapter of the N.B. Needlearts Guild. Susan’s other great passion was Scottish Country dancing. She was an enthusiastic and valued member of the Greater Moncton Scottish Association and Scottish Country Dancing community for more than 25 years, where she participated as both dancer and teacher. Susan was a generous person with a keen wit and spirited personality that earned her the respect and devotion of many close friends.
       She is survived by brothers Brian (Petra Rykers) Hoyt, Stillwater Lake, NS, Allen Hoyt, Montreal; and sister Louise (Ted) Mussett, Dartmouth, NS; step children Sandra Pickett, Moncton, NB; Wendy Libby, BC; Donnie Pickett, Upper Coverdale, NB; David (Brenda) Pickett, Parkindale, NB; Connie (Rod) Stultz, Lower Coverdale, NB; Margie Pickett, Nine Mile River, NS; nephews Peter (Jenna) Hoyt, Jon Mussett, nieces Johanna (Ross Bain) Hoyt, Michelle and Elliot Mussett, and step grandchildren Kaleigh, Corey, Anna, Abigail, Keith and Ian. She was predeceased by her parents, and husbands Bill Libby, Lewis Pickett.
       Cremation under direction of Fergusons Funeral Home, Moncton. Reception on Saturday November 30, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM, Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd, Moncton, NB, E1G 1A5 (858-1995).
