TOMSON, Dorothy V. (from Kalamazoo formerly of Coldwater), died July 14, 2005. She was born March 14, 1903 in Omaha, NE. The daughter of Carl and Mae (Tyner) Smith. With her husband, Richard E. Alison, she owned and operated Western Auto Store in Coldwater during the 50’s. Following Mr. Alison’s death in 1955 she worked as a medical assistant for Harold Meier, M.D. in Coldwater until her retirement. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Syd Tomson in 1980 and step-son Jerry Tomson in 1988. Surviving are a son Richard E. II (Jeanine) Alison, of Portage; a step-daughter Carol Borden of Coldwater; step-daughter in-law Marge Tomson of Coldwater, grandchildren, Richard E. III (Karen) Alison, Lauri (Michael) Marshall; step-grandchildren, Kathy (David) Brown, James (Nancy) Borden, Joan (Randy) Stratman, Mary Borden, Michael (Kathy) Tomson, Lisa Tomson (Tom Littlefield) and nine great grandchildren. There will be no visitation and cremation will take place. A private graveside service will take place at a later day in Coldwater. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
