- [S4] Obituary.
Frances Erion Taylor, 68, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 21, 2005. Mrs. Taylor of Amarillo left us to meet her Lord on July 21 at the age of 68. Fran was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Hobart, Okla., and moved with her parents to Miami, Okla., where she met and married Rutherford T. Taylor. She and Rudy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2002. Rudy and Fran moved to Amarillo in 1961, where Fran raised their five children, and Rudy pursued an engineering career at Pantex. Fran managed several departments at Sakowitz Department Store and owned a pottery/coffee shop on Sixth Street. During their 34 years in Amarillo, they met and cherished many friends that remain dear to them today. Upon retirement, Fran and Rudy fulfilled a lifelong dream of residing in the beautiful resort community of Angel Fire, N.M. There they enjoyed fishing, skiing, hiking, golfing and forming new friendships with the people of this small village. Fran and Rudy were forced to leave Angel Fire due to Frans illness and returned to Amarillo, where she received excellent care through BSA Hospice. Through her devoted belief in Jesus Christ, Fran continued to touch and influence the lives of her many close friends, her family and those who cared for her. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated and loving staff of BSA Hospice and suggest that memorials be made to that organization so that they can continue to assist other families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Louise Erion. Survivors include her husband; five children, Beth Taylor, Barbara Howard, Paul Taylor and wife, Ren, Beverly Bailey and husband, David, and Brenda Carden and husband, Roger; two sisters, Jeane Johnson and Carla Turpin; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
