ALISON, MR. RICHARD E. "RICK" JR. (Portage, Michigan) Mr. Alison passed away on March 23, 2012 at home with his family at his side. Born January 21, 1938 in North Platte, Nebraska to Richard E Alison and Dorothy V. Alison (Smith). He came with his family to Coldwater, Michigan in 1949 where he met his future wife, Jeanine, at age 11. Rick graduated from Coldwater High School in 1956, served in the U.S. Navy, and then attended Michigan State University. Rick and Jeanine McKinley were married September 2, 1960. Rick moved his family to Portage, Michigan for a job opportunity in 1967 and then founded his own consulting firm which he managed for 42 years. He had many interests including playing guitar, racing cars and boats, hunting and fishing. Rick was a loving husband, father and friend that enriched the lives of many people. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanine Alison; his son, Richard E. Alison III (Karen McCrory); his daughter, Lauri A. Marshall (Michael); and his five grandchildren; Richard E. Alison, IV, Sean E. Alison, Rory J. Alison, Alison Rose Marshall and Andrew J. Marshall. A celebration of Rick’s life will be planned for a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Cancer Center or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
