Kenneth B. Astley, age 75, passed away Monday, January 1, 2001. He was born near Ringwood, OK, on August 10, 1925. He was the eldest child of Harry B. Astley and Lida Frickel Astley. He married Rose Mary Cutter on December 31, 1949, in Oklahoma City. Kenneth graduated from Helena High School, Enid Business College, and Oklahoma City University. He was a Certified Public Accountant, and he retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 30 years, where he was a Comptroller. He received the Award of excellence in 1980.
He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Rose Mary of the home; five children, Carl Astley, his wife, Debbie and children, Jacob and Susannah of Fletcher, OK; Kenneth Gene Astley, his wife, Nazneen of Virginia Beach, VA; Barbara Simmons and her son, Jesse of Enid, OK; Roger Astley, his wife Esther and son, Daniel of Oklahoma City, OK; and Sandra Smith and her husband, Chris, of Randlett, OK; one sister, Dora Jean DeVore of Helena, OK. Also by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kenneth was a member of the Village Church of Christ where he also served as a deacon.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 3, 2001, at 10:00 a.m., at Vondel L. Smith Mortuary, 13125 N. MacArthur, Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at Crescent Cemetery, Crescent, OK.
