DOROTHY ILENE THACKER WOOTEN, 92, formerly of Rainelle, W.Va., passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Genesis Teays Center, Hurricane. Born May 15, 1922, in Hurricane, she was a daughter of the late Albert M. and Alice McCallister Thacker. She was also preceded in death by her son Daniel Weekley; her sister Esther Cooper and her brothers Wendell and Cline Thacker. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Highland First Church of God, Rainelle, where she was active with the Golden Youth group.
Surviving are her daughter Rebecca Hayes and her husband Tim of Winfield, W.Va.; her son Joe Weekley and his wife Beverley of Huntington, W.Va.; brother Clifford Thacker of Hurricane, W.Va.; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Chapman Funeral Home, Winfield. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.
