      A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, in Gresham Funeral Chapel for Fern E. Schoepper, who died Aug. 21 at age 79. Fern E. Swanstrom was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Portland. She graduated from Jefferson High School and was a homemaker. She moved to Gresham in 1975. In 1945, she married Edward “Ed.”
       Survivors include her husband; sons, E. Robert and Greg A.; and four grandchildren. Remembrances to the World Relief Fund in care of Good Shepherd Community Church in Boring.
