BANGOR —
Rachel C.A. (Fields) Brenckman, 75, died peacefully on June 2nd after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was born April 23, 1942 in Palmyra, ME, the daughter of Elbert E. and Kathleen E. (Doughty) Fields. She graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1960. She was an avid knitter, bird watcher, and spent many years gardening and sewing. She loved her family and took every opportunity to share time with them.
She is survived by her husband Robert L. Brenckman and his 2 children, Robert Brenckman, Jr. of Waterbury, CT, and Jennifer Holden of Ellington, CT; her 3 children, Loretta Spaulding of Bristol, CT, Janet Courtois and her husband Bryan of Saco, and Brent Spaulding (she lovingly referred to as her #1 Son) and his wife Pamela of Brewer; 6 grandchildren, Kathleen, Nicholas, Dane, Lance, Sarah and Jacob, and 1 great granddaughter, Ava; 1 brother Dana Fields of Waterville; 4 nephews; and a long list of cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, and 4 siblings, Shirley Libby, Lois Savard, Elbert Fields, Jr., and Reta Fields.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 18th from 1:30-3:30 at 54 Acadia St. in Dexter, Maine. Donations in her honor can be made to: Maine Central Institute at 295 Main St. Pittsfield, ME 04967.
