MADAWASKA LAKE – Roger S. Harpine, 63, died Feb. 17, 2010, in Caribou. He was born Nov. 19, 1946, in Augusta, the son of David and Beatrice (Smith) Harpine. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. Roger was a self-employed truck driver for 18 years and he owned and operated Rainbow Cove, Sinclair, for five years. He attended First Baptist Church of Stockholm. Roger married Pamela (Doughty) Harpine, July 31, 1971. He was a loving and devoted husband and father to his family. Roger brightened the day wherever he went and connected with everybody. Surviving in addition to his wife, Pamela; and his mother, Beatrice, both of Madawaska Lake, are one son, Kyle David Harpine and his significant other, Casey Haines, of Caribou; two daughters, Heather Mladek and her husband, Richard and their children, Richie and Stephen, all of Kennebunk and Mindy Harpine and her significant other, Griffin Anders, of Augusta; and one brother, David Harpine of Fort Fairfield. Family and friends may meet with the family 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at First Baptist Church of Stockholm with Jim Ritchie officiating. Spring interment with military honors will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to contribute in memory of Roger may do so to Jefferson Cary Foundation, P.O. Box 89, Caribou, ME 04736 or to the charity of one’s choice. FORT FAIRFIELD — Miss Pamela Jean Doughty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Doughty became the bride of Roger Stephen Harpine, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Harpine of Caribou, July 31 at the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. George Billington officiating. Mrs. Sharon Dorsey of Fort Fairfield was matron of honor. Junior bridesmaids were Tina Doughty and Sally Doughty, sisters of the bride. David Harpine III, of Caribou, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Michael Albair and Richard Albair of Caribou. A reception was held in the church dining hall. Following a wedding trip to Virginia the couple will reside on the Presque Isle Road, Fort Fairfield, after Aug. 11. The bride is a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School and Saint John School of Nursing at Saint John, N.B. She is employed at the Community General Hospital, Fort Fairfield. The groom is a graduate of Caribou High School and served with the Marine Corps. He is employed by Aroostook Mental Health Center, Fort Fairfield.
