Lois Evelyn Allanach Gordon, 92, a longtime resident of Sanders Road, Livermore, died early Monday morning, July 9th at Clover Manor Nursing Home in Auburn, with her loving daughter at her side. She was born November 20, 1919 in Canton, the daughter of Harold and Jessie (Reed) Gilbert. Lois was a 1937 graduate of Canton High School and continued her education at Auburn School of Commerce. She married Christopher Allanach, Jr. in 1945, he passed away in 1953.
On June 10, 1955 in Canton, she married her husband of 55 years, P. Clarence Gordon. He passed away June 13, 2010. Lois had worked at Peck’s Department Store in Lewiston; Rumford Falls Trust Company; Dunton’s Clothing Store in Livermore Falls; worked for 20 years at their family business, Gordon’s Egg Farm in Livermore. She also served the Town of Livermore as a ballot clerk for over 30 years and volunteered at Pomeroy Hill Nursing Home.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Pelletier and her husband Jack of Jay; three sons, Jerry Allanach and his wife Barbara of Naperville, IL., Bernard Gordon of Brunswick, and Douglas Gordon of Livermore and his companion Barbara Baker; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Jeannette Buck of Auburn; and Elizabeth Sampson of Seal Beach, California and her brother, Harold Gilbert and his wife Norma of Lewiston.
