      William Calvin Spivey Sr., 94, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Healthmark Regional Medical Center in DeFuniak Springs. He was born Nov. 30, 1919 in Tennessee. He was the son of Martin and Pearl Whitaker Spivey.
       Spivey had lived in DeFuniak Springs since 1994. He was Disciples of Christ by faith and a member of Winter Park Christian Church.
       He graduated from the University of Western Kentucky with a bachelors degree in engineering. He also played bastek ball with the University of Western Kentucky. He worked as a sales consultant in the Steel Industry since 1940. He also owned and operated his own steel erection and fabrication company for over 30 years, which was Florida Welding and Erection Services in Orlando, FL. His company was responsible for erecting the steel in the Vertical Assembly Building at the Cape Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL.
       Spivey was preceded in death by his father and mother; his wife, Lamorah Spivey; one son, William Spivey Jr., and one stepson, Charles Stebbins.
       Spivey is survived by his two daughters, Mary E. Armstrong and husband, Jim, of DeFuniak Springs and Rosie Ness and husband, Steve, of Steamboat Springs, CO; and one step-daughter, Lamoral Stephens and husband, Steve, of Fairburn, GA. He is also survived by sevent grandchildren, Tom Armstrong, Beth ToThero, Jimmy Armstrong, William C. Spivey III, Rich Scott, Todd Stephens, and Leigh Stephens; 15 great-grand-children and one great-great-granddaughter.
       Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, 2005, at the chapel of Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Reverend Durl Odom officiating. Donations can be made to the Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church at P.O. Box 609 DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435. Gravesides services were held, March 15, 2005 in the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia. The Spivey family placed their confidence in Clary-Glenn Funeral Home to handle the arrangements.
