Edward T. Chilson, 90, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Wednesday evening, December 9, 2015 at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.
Born April 28, 1925 in Los Angeles, California, he was the son of Allen L. and Nancy L. Chilson. He was raised and received his education in Los Angeles graduating from Eagle Rock High School. Ed joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during WWII. He was honorably discharged on February 3, 1946.
Ed was united in marriage to Jonne Pavilion. She preceded him in death at the age of 50 in 1979. He later married Geraldine Clare Debnar at St. Jerome Church in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Chilson preceded him in death on January 17, 2014. Ed worked for the US Naval Department and Paramount Studios as a Fire Inspector.
He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed flying his plane for the Civil Air Patrol and renting to the Snow Birds in Arizona after the winter months.
His family includes: His daughters: Alixis Chilson of Flintridge, CA; Keethly McNamara of San Clemente; His brother: Bill Chilson and wife, Tracy of Wichita, KS;
In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlotte and Ilene and his niece, Catherine.
Military Committal Honors will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield. Miles Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established in Ed’s name for the Kansas Veterans Home. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
