Shaw, Edward F. Age 88, of Mpls. and Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Was born March 17, 1919 and died June 2, 2007. He was preceded in death by loving wife, Anne McCarthy Shaw in 1983. Survived by children, Edward F. IV, Jeffrey and Carol; granddaughter, Kristin (Andrew) Taton; great-grandchildren Paul and Julia Taton and long time special friend, Barbara Chadderton.
Ed was born in Little Falls, MN, attended West Point and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1942. He received his LLB degree in 1956 from William Mitchell College of Law. He served his country during WWII and the Korean war and retired from the US Army reserves with the rank of Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army, Artillery. Ed worked for General Mills for 38 years, retiring in 1983. Upon retirement, he lived in Ft. Myers Beach, FL and Perth, Ontario.
His family wishes to recognize and thank the caring staffs at Sunrise of Edina, Fairview Hospice, Abbott Northwestern Hospital and Perth and Smith Falls Dist. Hospital. Memorial service will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, W. 44th St. & Vincent Ave. So., Mpls on Wednesday, June 6, 10:30 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
