      Gary Boyd Bruns of Belmont Village in Buffalo Grove, formerly of Des Plaines for 45 years, Born May 11, 1929, in Ocheyedan, Iowa. He died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at the Claremont Living Center, he was 82 years old.
       Mr. Bruns was a Korean veteran serving in the Navy. He was a load agent in weight and balance at American Airlines, and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Des Plaines and the Des Plaines Senior Center.
       He was the loving husband of Joyce Bruns (née Stevens), whom he married on Oct. 15, 1956; devoted father of Jennifer (Robert) Barnes, David Bruns and the late Frank Bruns; dear grandfather of Matthew; and caring son of the late Rose Bruns.
       Service of Remembrance was at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. Interment was in Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Iowa.
