FREEPORT, Maine — An elderly man was killed and a Bangor-area woman badly injured in a wrong-way accident Wednesday night on Interstate 295.
Daniel Cressey Sr., 78, of Gorham was killed instantly in the crash and Mary Warner, 58, of Holden was hospitalized at Maine Medical Center in Portland with multiple injuries. Warner was in satisfactory condition Thursday morning, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Daniel Cressey Sr. 77, formerly of Brunswick, went home to be with the Lord. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 as a result of a auto accident.
Born in Portland, February, 8, 1934. Graduated from BHS in 1953. Did tour of duty in the Navy during Korean War. Married to Leilani Morrison in 1958.
Surviving are his former wife Leilani Morrison, children; Daniel W. and Kellie Cressey Teel. He also had 6 grandchildren; Sean, Brogan, Paige, Mikaelyn & Corbon Teel. Also “ DJ” Cressey. Another son Dan “CB” Cressey and step daughter Nancy from Rhode Island.
He loved to sing, he had a beautiful tenor voice and was in the Glee Club all 4 years of high school. His pastime was sports. Especially the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtic & Bruins. He will be greatly missed by his whole family. Military services will be held at Bar Mills cemetery in the spring.
