Double-Ring Ceremony Unites Couple In a 2:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony Aug. 2 at First Methodist Church, Oregon, Miss Joyce Watts, daughter of Mrs. Elsie Watts and Ralph Watts of Oregon, and Larry Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Davis, Oregon Route 2, were united in marriage.
Rev. Ed P. Bowers of First Christian Church performed the ceremony. Mrs. Chester Landers was organist, and Rev. and Mrs. Ed F. Bowers sang a duet. Vases of white gladioli and lighted candelabra decorated the altar.
Given in marriage by her brother, Sgt. Roland Watts, the bride selected a gown of satin with an A-shaped skirt, lace jacket and a scalloped lace train bordered by satin. Her three-tiered finger-tip veil was held by a crown of seed pearls. The bride designed and made her gown. She carried a cascade of Amazon lilies with stephanotis.
Miss Polly Reed of Oregon, maid of honor, wore a ballerina- length pastel pink satin brocade dress with a rounded neckline, three-quarter length sleeves and held a cascade of white mums and pink Sweetheart roses.
Miss Dixie Blumeyer of Oregon and Miss Lindy Baker of Ghana, bridesmaids, were dressed identically to the maid of honor, but in green. The bride designed and made her attendants’ dresses also.
Best man was Bill Davis, arother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Dale Barlow of Oregon and Al Jameson of Rockford. Ushers were Roger Watts, Oregon, brother of the bride, and Randy Davis, Oregon.
Carrying the flowers was Terri Trout of Oregon wearing a full skirted green chiffon over white ;affeta dress made by the bride. David Garkey carried the rings. Brad and Craig Suter also assisted.
A reception followed in the Fellowship Hall of the church. A pink and white three-tiered cake centered the serving table. Pink and white carnations and garlands of greens with pink roses were used in decoration. Those assisting were Mmes. Roger Watts, Laverne Zellers, Duane Garkey, and Misses Mary Heckman, Sheryl Davis, Mary Pond, Rosi Head, Jean Jenkins and Gloria Bailey.
After a wedding trip to Niagara Falls the couple will live on a farm west of Oregon on Pine blacktop road.
The bride is a 1964 Oregon Community High School graduate. The bridegroom, a 1963 Oregon Community High School graduate is engaged in dairy farming.
