      The death of David L. Burnside of Saint John East, occurred on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 26, 1932 he was a son of the late Hazen and Viney (Schofield) Burnside. He was employed with City Transit for over 30 years before retirement. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
       David is survived by Brenda Coes, son Kevin (Janet), daughters Brenda (Mrs. John Cooke) of Deer Island, Karen Erb, Linda McLean, and Terry Cook of Saint John, a brother Arthur of Rothesay, and sisters Helen, Mabel, Florence and Vi and Joyce, twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother James Burnside.
       Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from where the funeral will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday with services at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donors choice. A Tribute to a Veteran Service will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.
