HUBBARD – John M. Richards passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at home with his family at his side. John was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Pulaski, Pa., a son of John and Mary Kollar Richards. He was a heavy equipment operator at Standard Slag for 48 years, retiring in 1995. John was a hard worker, and enjoyed farming and being outdoors in his woods. He especially enjoyed helping others and spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by his family, his wife, the former Janice M. Caldwell, whom he married March 12, 1960; his daughters, Marcia B. (Edgar) Spaulding of San Pedro, Calif.; Pamela Jo Richards of Columbia, S.C.; Jill (Lawrence) DiVita of Berea; and a granddaughter, Leah Spaulding. He also leaves his siblings, Delores Katilavas of Salem, David (Ruth Ann) Richards of Hubbard, Adrienne Richards of Florida, and Renee (Tony) Brown of Florida. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Richards; and several stepbrothers and sisters, including Adam Richards, Joseph Richards, Blanche Gurney, Emily Patterson, and Stella Kuzma. There will be services held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, with calling hours two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home. John will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 525 N.
