Emagene (Emmy) J. Hallin passed away on June 25, 2014. She was 69 years young, and resided in Lewisville, Texas. She died at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri of complications associated with a long term illness. Emagene was born October 8, 1944 in Miami Beach, Florida. She was the only child of Lt. Col. Paul E. Holland, USAF (Ret) and Mrs. Jetta Holland. During her formative years she was a typical military brat. Her father served in locations around the US in addition to West Germany and Crete. She attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. Professionally, she worked for a number of law firms, doctors’ offices and the Child Support Enforcement Department of the State of Indiana. It was at this last position that she met and married her future husband. Over the 34 years of their marriage, Emagene was the focal point for family gatherings, and the guiding force in her children’s lives, always putting her children and grandchildren first. She went out of her way to make everyone in the family feel included and special. She had a big heart and never met a stranger. She was caring and truly listened when people talked to her. She had a great sense of humor, and could play a mean hand of spite & malice. She always had a smile for everyone, despite the fact that she often dealt with significant pain.
Emagene is survived by her husband, Bradley D. Hallin, her daughters Kelly Ann Ross (and son-in-law Roy Ross), Kassandra Marie Miller (and son-in-law Ryan Miller) and her son Bradley Dean Hallin Jr. Additionally three grandchildren were very much loved by Emagene. They include Sydney Ross and Brett Ross as well as Isabella Miler. Emagene is also survived by her Mother-in-Law Doris I. Hallin, her sister and brother in law Mona and Ed Archer, her sister and brother in-law Cherie and Loren Hallin and her sister-in-law Rosemary (Macy) Hallin. Emagene was predeceased by both of her parents. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
