With sadness, the family of
John Robert “Bob” McAllister Gibb announce his unexpected passing on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born October 23, 1932, in Saint John, he was a son of the late John and Jean (McAllister) Gibb.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Marie, his goddaughter, Susan Proulx and cousin, James McAllister.
Bob was a partner in Angus-Miller Insurance Company along with John Mason and John Kimball. He was the last surviving partner. He was very athletic, participating in golf, basketball, horseshoes, among others. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at his cottage in the country. He had the only paved driveway in Tennants Cove! He was known for his great sense of humour and will be missed by his many friends.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A graveside service will take place on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 2 pm in Fernhill Cemetery. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 4 pm at the Union Club, 125 Germain Street, Saint John. Bob was a prolific donator to various charities.
