      DOBSON, JEAN G. — It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Georgia Dobson (MacPherson), wife of the late James E. Dobson, announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. She resided at 65 Aspen Street, Saint John.
       Born at Moulies River, Kent County, New Brunswick, on September 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Jennie (Adams) MacPherson. Jean was well known for her work at the Glen View United Church, where she participated and was a life time member in the Glen View United Church Women. She was a founding member of the Glen View Bowling League, the Good Time Fellowship, the Jolly 17 Club, and the McAllister Place Pacers. She especially enjoyed her time with her daughters at P’s and J’s Children’s Wear. Her Sundays were especially fond to her, as they were spent with her children and grandchildren.
       Jean is survived by her five sons, James B. (June), Paul G. (Sandy), David W. (Terri), Daniel W. (Rose), and R. Derek (Kelly); five daughters, Mary Lee McMillan (Jack), Peggy Stiles (Vern), Judy Connell (Wayne), Pamie Shonaman (Daryl), Debra Armstrong (Joe); twenty-two grandchildren, Kevin Dobson (Pam), Kelly Dobson (Kim), Kurt Dobson (Heather), Stephen Dobson (Andrea), Cheri Lumsden (Glen), Vee Jay Stiles (Shelly), Andrea Organ (Chris), Beth Peterson (Shawn), Bradley Connell (Krista), Robyn Connell (Michael), Mandi Pitman (Danny), Ryan Shonaman (Johanna), Ashley Steele (Jeff), Luanne Dobson, Hailey Dobson, Kenneth Dobson (Christina), Erin Dobson (Derrick), Katharine Armstrong (Justin), Geoffrey Armstrong, Jenna Dobson, Gillian Dobson, Gregor Dobson; a granddaughter-in-law, Tana McMillan; seventeen great grandchildren; sisters Florence Friars of Saint John, and Audrey Campbell of Moncton; brother Bill (Shirley) MacPherson of Ottawa, Ontario; many loved nieces and nephews; and special family friend Ruth Cavanagh.
       Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters Margaret Farren, Grace Barnes, Jennie MacPherson, Mary Cowan, Maude McDade, Alice Grant, and Hilda Rae; a brother Roderick MacPherson; granddaughter Lori Dobson; and grandson, John T. McMillan, Jr.
       Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from Glen View United Church. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the John T.
