      LOUDONRev. Gerald F. Flewelling, 87, of 819 Loudon Ridge Road, died at the Concord Hospital on Sunday, October 23, 2005.
       Rev. Flewelling was born September 29, 1918 in Washburn, Maine, the son of George and Avis (Crouse) Flewelling. Rev. Flewelling had been a resident of Loudon Ridge for the past thirty-five years. Rev. Flewelling was a Minister for over fifty years and was Pastor at the following churches: 1941-1945, Advent Christian Church, Newport Center, VT; 1945-1949 Advent Christian Church, Rochester, NH; 1949-1950 Advent Christian Church, Danville, Quebec, Canada; 1950-1952 the Advent Christian Churches in East Mapleton and State Road, Maine; 1952-1958 the Advent Christian Church, State Road, Maine; 1958-1966 the Advent Christian Church, Meredith, NH; 1969-1973 the Advent Christian Church, Loudon Ridge, NH and from 1974-1980 the Advent Christian Church, Farmington, NH. He retired in 1980. Rev. Flewelling enjoyed oil painting and woodworking.
       In 1945, he was President of the Beebe Plains Campmeeting Association, Beebe, Quebec; from 1957-1958 he was President of the Aroostook Valley Park Campmeeting Association; in 1963 he was President of the Alton Bay Campmeeting Association, Alton Bay, NH; from 1962-1966, he was Vice President of the NH Advent Christian Conference. Besides Rev. Flewelling’s pastoral duties, he was an estimator and designer for Prescott Lumber Company, Prescott Homes Division from 1964-1967; designer for The Locke Corporation Waterville Estates, Campton, NH from 1968-1971 and operated a home design business from his own home from 1971 until his retirement.
       Survivors include his wife, Mary (Stevens) Chesley-Flewelling, of Loudon Ridge; three sons, Vincent Flewelling of Pembroke, Merrill Flewelling of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Gere Flewelling of Loudon Ridge; three daughters, Sheryl Elbridge of Fairview, PA, Judi Grierson of Epsom and Beth Evans of Auburn, Maine; one stepson, Gary Chesley of Middleton and a stepdaughter, Sharon Langis of Farmington; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; four brothers, Leo Flewelling of Crouseville, Maine, Rev. William Flewelling of Rowley, MA, Wilmot Flewelling of Crouseville, Maine and Erwin Flewelling of Lincolnville, Maine; two sisters, Anna Newton and Clarissa Jordan both of Vernon, Vermont and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Marguerite (Allen) Flewelling who died in 1994.
       Calling hours will be held on Thursday October 27, 2005 from 3-6PM using the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street Laconia, NH. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Community Baptist Church at the corner of North Village Road and Currier Road, Loudon. Rev. Stephen Ludwick, Pastor of the Loudon Ridge Family Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in Loudon Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Loudon Ridge Family Bible Church, Building Fund, PO Box 7858, Loudon, NH 03307.
