Services for Charles Herbert Lyons, the oldest resident of Grant, were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 from the Cox Mortuary chapel. Mr. Lyons died here Sunday, June 8, at 12:30 p.m. Mr. Lyons was born at Sackyule, New Brunswick, March 12, 1854. He was a resident of Grant County for 71 of his 93 years. He established a ranch on the Gila River where he lived for many years. Besides being in the cattle business Mr. Lyons was interested in mining. He had made his home for the past 11 years with his niece, Mrs. Ada Todd.
He is survived by his niece, Mrs. Todd; four daughters, Mrs. E. R. Nunally of Albuquerque, Mrs. Frances Bedendn, of Fresno, California, Mrs. Jack Hansen of California, and Mrs. William B. Hensley of Venice, California; and two sons, Charles Lyons, Jr. of Hurley and C. W. Lyons of Brownsville TX. Pallbearers were Robert Tacket, E. Smith, Andrew Stuart Bowden, James Coker, and Conrad Whitehill.
