Cleo Lorraine Zimmerman, 92, formally of Denver, CO and Albuquerque, NM, passed away on October 5, 2018 in Mesa, AZ. Cleo was born to Elves Ray and Polly John (nee Lyons) Nunnelley in a little mining town called Ray, Pinal County, Arizona which due to the mining expansion ceased to exist in 1940’s. Cleo married Ronald Donnell Zimmerman on July 3, 1942 in Albuquerque, NM. Together they had 5 children (one boy & 4 girls). Cleo enjoyed sewing, making drapes and slipcovers, dancing and taking long walks. She was a member of the Baptist community and until her health declined and relocated to Arizona, was an active member in the Grace Fellowship of Lakewood church in Lakewood, Colorado. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Donnell Zimmerman; a daughter, Joyce Fraschetti; son-in-law, John Schweedler; and her four sisters Ray Marie Daves, Mable Oreta Mellenthin, Phyllis Anita Bailey and Geraldine "Jimmy" Lavon Kelton. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her four children, Ronald J. (Donna) Zimmerman, Mesa, AZ; Teshia L. Schweedler, Falcon, CO; Roberta "Bobbi" (Paul) Gonzales, Denver, CO; and Cleo "Cozi" L. (John) Nelson, Arvada, CO; a brother, Charles Wayne (Nancy) Nunnelley, Las Alamos, NM; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor the life of Cleo L. Zimmerman will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80246
