  [S4] Obituary. Miss Eliza Smith died at Passavant hospital Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock, at the age of 47 years. She was the daughter of John Smith of Pittsfield and had hosts of friends in this city and vicinity who will sincerely mourn her loss.  The deceased is survived by two brothers: William Smith, of Pleasant Hill, and John Smith, of Nebo; and three sisters, Mrs. Hyde, of Pittsfield; Mrs. Amos Straight of this city, and Mrs. Ellis of Quincy.  The funeral will be held at the residence of Mrs. Straight, 553 Hardin avenue, Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and interment will be in Diamond Grove cemetery. – Jackonsville Daily Journal, Wednesday, September 13, 1905.
