Daughter of the late Elbert Edgar Church and Vivien Dawson (Barnes) Church, she was born in Hartford CT, and raised in East Riverside, NB. After graduating from Macdonald College (McGill) with a B.Sc. (H.Ec.), she taught home economics in Kentville and Montreal schools.  She is survived by her sons John (Karen), Ottawa; Peter (Martha), Columbus, OH; Hugh, Toronto; daughters Sarah (Tim Curry), Calgary; and Catherine (John Wdowczyk), Brantford, ON; brother Joseph, Sudbury, ON; eight grandchildren: Matthew March (Lauren), Hilary March (Steve Pierce), and Hannah Tiberi (Ryan); Thomas and Benjamin March; Patrick, Noah and Matthew Curry; and two great-grandchildren: Jasper and Octavia March. She was predeceased by her husband William DesBarres March, her eldest daughter Martha Louise, third son Richard Barnes, and brothers John Elbert, David Seymour and Hugh Wallace.  A memorial service and reception will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Friday December 28th at 6 p.m. Interment will be at the family plot in St. John’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity.
