  [S4] Obituary. Mr. John D. Griffith, 87, of Eastwood, died on Tuesday at the James Square Nursing Home, Syracuse, after a long illness. He was the former owner + operator of Ryan’s Eastwood Liquor Sales (1965-2001) and formerly was a co-owner of Griffith Brothers Grocery (1948-1964). Mr. Griffith graduated from Eastwood High School, was a veteran of the Army during WW11 and a member of the Eastwood American Legion Post 1276. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth E. Griffith in 1998.  Survivors: Two Sons – Thomas of Syracuse, John Jr. (Debbie) of Saratoga Springs; brother – William of Florida; two grandchildren and several nieces + nephews.  Funeral Service is Friday at 6PM at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home 3111 James St. Syracuse.
