      Alfreda M. Brown, 83, of Meridian, NY and St. Petersburg, FL, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Auburn Memorial Hospital. She was a longtime resident of North Syracuse, NY where she was the bookkeeper of the family business. She was also an active member of the North Syracuse Baptist Church where she was involved in the church choir and Sunday school.
       Surviving: Her husband of 65 years, James E. Brown of Meridian NY; three daughters, Saundra Aicher (Mark) of Central Square, NY, Barbara Velez (Nelson) of Charlottesville, VA, and Linda Thompson (Lawrence) of Charlotte, NC; one son, James M. Brown (Karen) of Meridian, NY; one brother, William Bennett (Mary) of Tupper Lake, NY; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
       A memorial service will be held in her honor at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2004 at the Beacon Baptist Church, Rt. 31 in Clay, NY. Donations can be made to the Cayuga County Nursing Home or Alzheimer’s Association.
