Joseph DeWitt Gardner December 13, 2010 Joseph DeWitt Gardner, 88, died Monday in Melbourne, FL. A WWII Navy veteran, Joe was a freemason for 66 years; past master of Seneca River Lodge #160. An avid golfer and ham radio operator (N2ARE). He retired from the NY Telephone Co. and moved to Brevard County, FL, in 1989. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Doris; children, Karen Matson (Eric), David Gardner, Deborah Lang, Kenneth Gardner, Jacqueline Gilcher (Brian); seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Service will be held in Florida. Donations may be made to Joe’s Club, c/o Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation, 4676 N Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935.

A WWII Navy Veteran, Joe was a Freemason for 66 yars and Past Master of Seneca River Lodge #160. An avid golver and HAM radio operator (N2ARE) he retired from the NY Telephone and moved to Brevard County in 1989. Joseph is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Doris, Melbourne Beach; children, Karen Matson (Eric) NY, David Gardner NY, Deborah Lang NY, Kenneth Gardner NY, Jacqueline Gilcher (Brian) Satellite Beach; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on January 8th at Outdoor Resorts of America at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joe’s Club c/o Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation, 4676 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, 32935.
