      SCARSDALE, N. T., Dec. 19 — J. Dalton Couig of 35 Graham Road, a general partner in the investment ‐ banking firm of Hirsch &, died of leukemia today in St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains. Mr. Couig, who had been with Hirsch & Co. since 1946, spe­cialized in bonds. He was pre­viously a partner in the invest­ment banking firm of Gregory & Sons. In World War I, Mr. Couig was an ambulance driver with the American Field Service in France and was awarded the Croix de Guerre.
       Surviving are his widow, the former Dorothy Brassil; two sons, J. Dalton Jr. and Donald B. Couig; three daughters, Mrs. Robert J. Armstrong, Ann M. and Dorothy M. Couig; a sister, Mrs. Gerald Sheehan, and eight grandchildren.
