Claire C. Koch, 90, of Lake Geneva, WI, died Sunday March 25, 2012 at Williams Bay Care Center in Williams Bay, WI. Claire Catherine Koch was born in Hartland, WI on September 3, 1921 the daughter of the late Leo and Catherine (Fails) Walsh. She graduated from Menomonee Falls High School in 1939. She served during World War II with the United States Marine Corps. She was united in marriage to Arthur R. Koch in Menomonee Falls, WI; he preceded her in death on May 26, 1975. In 1989 she married Anton Rusch; he preceded her in death on May 5, 2001. Claire was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva and a former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was a member of the Women Marines Association. She was an avid reader keeping current on the world around her or enjoying a good novel. She liked the music of the 40’s and 50’s, the big bands and Tony Bennett, she loved to dance, especially ballroom dancing. Claire is survived by: 6 children; Catherine Bergl of Collingswood, NJ, Michael (JoAnn) Koch of Lake Geneva, WI, James (Catherine) Koch of Saint Charles, IL, Penny (Bruce) Lally of Mount Carroll, IL, Christopher (Tauni) Koch of Madison, WI and Thomas Koch of East Troy, WI, 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and a brother Edward (Lois) Walsh of Hartford, WI. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Jean Gettelman and Ellen Town and a brother James Walsh. Mass of Christian Burial will be said Thursday March 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva; Father Angel Anaya will officiate. Burial, with military rites, will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Menomonee Falls, WI. Claire’s family will receive visitors Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Derrick Funeral Home, 800 Park Dr. in Lake Geneva. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials are requested in Claire’s name to: Lakeland School, W3905 County Road NN, Elkhorn, WI or to the Special Olympics.
