      Edgar L. Houpt, 78, 1877 Lime Kiln Road, Oregon, Died Sunday, March 12, 1989, in his home after a short illness. Born Oct. 5, 1910, in Rockvale Township, Ogle County, son of Alva and Effie Rowe Houpt. He farmed all his life on the farm where he was born and lived. Survivors include brother, Lester (Vivian), Byron; sister, Elsie Watts, Oregon; two nephews, Roland and Roger (Linda) Watts, Oregon; three nieces, Judy (Glen) Dudley, Huntington, W. Va., Joyce (Larry) Davis, Oregon, and Betty (Richard) Messer, Byron.
       Services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, in Farrell-Holland Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St., Oregon, with the Rev. E. Maynard Beal, pastor of Oregon United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Morris. Memorials for Oregon Ambulance.
