FLORIDA, N.Y. —
Cynthia Diane Burghardt, 49, passed away after a long-term illness on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at home. Born on Dec. 21, 1959 in Sussex, she was the daughter of Henry Orville Wendt and the late Barbara Ann Cole. She was married to Joseph Burghardt Jr. Mrs. Burghardt was a waitress at G’s Restaurant in Warwick, as well as a barmaid at Garcia’s.
A family statement read: “Cindy lived with her illness as an example to others of how to endure and make the most of the time we are given.” Mrs. Burghardt was predeceased by her step-mother, Barbara Farber.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Burghardt Jr., of Florida, N.Y.; her father, Lawrence “Tob” Farber, of Vernon; a brother, Robert Farber and his wife, Junie, of Wantage; a sister, Melanie Debeises and her husband, Edward, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Jeff Burghardt of Warwick, N.Y.; her nieces and nephews, Robert, Jacob, Jessica and Ashley.
Cremation was private at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association of the Hudson Valley, 35 Orchard street, White Plains, NY 10603.
