    1. [S4] Obituary.
Joseph Benjamin Wooten, died peacefully in his home with his family present. He was the original cowboy punching cows and bucking bales through his life on the ranch. He was the local brand inspector for many years traveling throughout northern New Mexico, making lifelong friends. He was fiercely independent, this being borne out of love and service to his family. He was cantankerous mostly, but had a gentle side that surfaced with his wife in later years. Her loss was his loss and he followed her to the Pearly Gates on August 20, 2017, ten years after her death.
He will be missed by his surviving family, Jeannie Rhodes and spouse Wayne, Glen Wooten and spouse Rita, Daryl Wooten and spouse Lisa; a brother, Stewart Wayne Wooten; a sister, Frances Kelt; his grandchildren, Danielle, Colette, Gabrielle, Chad, Shannon, Krystal, Matthew, Joseph, April, Andy, Matthew, and many great grandchildren. His daughter Sandy preceded him in death many years earlier and will be waiting with her Ma for her Pa as he enters everlasting life. We can see Dolores there with her beautiful flowing skirt inviting him to their final square dance in heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 2 PM in Baca Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road in Las Cruces. Please join the family for fellowship and refreshments following the service at 2522 Los Alamos Court,
Entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels of Las Cruces and Sunset Crematory, 527-2222 Your exclusive providers for “Veterans and Family Memorial Care.”
