Elsie Mae Watts, 95, of Mount Morris passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. She was born Feb. 11, 1913, in Rockvale Township, the daughter of Alva and Effie Rowe Houpt. Elsie was a member of the Rockvale Home Extension. She was also a cook for almost two decades at the Mount Morris VFW and Mount Morris Senior Center, which allowed her to incorporate her love of cooking with her work. Her skill and joy for cooking was appreciated among family and friends, as well as anyone who had the opportunity to dine while she was in the kitchen. She is survived by children, Judy Dudley of Barboursville, W.Va., Roland (Linda) Watts, Roger Watts and Joyce (Larry) Davis, all of Oregon; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren that adore her and will cherish the many memories of their grandma. Predeceased by brothers, Edgar and Lester Houpt. Celebration of her life at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, in the Chapel of Pinecrest Manor, 413 S. Wesley, Mount Morris, with the Rev. Myron Bartell officiating. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon.
