Maureen Chaff, 75, of Lowell passed away on Saturday, October 26 at Lowell General Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving children.
Born in Lowell on November 6, 1937, Maureen was the daughter of the late James A. and Veronica T. (Kelly) Skinner. She was raised in North Reading and graduated from Reading High School Class of 1955. She was employed as office manager at various medical and dental offices throughout the area. After retiring, Maureen volunteered with the Lowell Board of Health and the Lowell Police Department, from whom she received a plaque for Outstanding Volunteer Effort. Maureen was a member of The East End Club, and she enjoyed dancing, antiquing and gardening. She loved all animals and could never turn away a stray. Above all else though, she cherished time shared with her children and grandchildren. She spent many happy hours playing cards and board games and enjoyed her vacations with them immensely. She cherished Sunday dinners with family.
Maureen is survived by her sister, Joyce Selfridge of North Reading; her children Deborah Chaff of Salem, NH; Daniel Chaff of Kingfield, Maine; Wendy Chaff of Scarborough, Maine; Christopher Chaff of Lowell; Linda and her husband Daniel Morrissey and Melissa and her husband Nicholas Liakas all of Dracut; and grandchildren Alissa Chaff of Salem, NH; Stephanie, Sophie and Spencer Stewart of Scarborough, Maine; Molly, Jack and Neil Morrissey and Ted, Eli and Olivia Liakas all of Dracut; son-in-law Steven Stewart of Scarborough, Maine and many dear nieces and nephews. She was formerly married to and is survived by Arthur N. Chaff and his wife Suzanne of Jefferson, Maine. Maureen was predeceased by her brother Lawrence Skinner and her brother- and sister-in-law, Donald and Clarice Wakefield.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Sunday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00a.m. in St, Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading, MA.
