CHUTE, George Edward › 88, Cambridge Station, Kings Co., died November 5, 1998, in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born on a Century Farm in South Berwick, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Edward and Emma (MacInnis) Chute.
In his earlier years, he operated the family farm where he resided for 80 years. He had been employed with the Department of Highways as a road foreman. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid gardener. He was a member of Berwick Baptist Church. He had been a trustee at South Berwick School for many years and was active in the South Berwick community.
Surviving are his wife, the former Myrtle Lucy Bennett; daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. John Morse), Hantsport; Madelyn (Mrs. Harry Morse), Somerset; son, Edward Chute, Springhill; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, Percy, Kingston.
He was predeceased by brother, Laurie; sisters, Frances Chute, Helen Crocker.
Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday, funeral 2 p.m. Sunday, both in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Berwick, Rev. Howard McCormick officiating. Private burial in Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to VON, Kings County Branch.
