    1. [S4] Obituary.
CHUTE, Hazel Geraldine – 81 of Weston formerly of Kingston, NS passed away peacefully and quietly in the early hours on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at home in Weston. Born in Greenwood Square, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Eva (Spinney) Griffin.
Over the years, Hazel worked in a hardware store in Kingston, as floral designer for Stevens Flowers, on the produce farm of Leon Avery as well as taking in many boarders, her adopted sons. One of her greatest interests was feeding the birds, God’s little creatures. She enjoyed nature of all kinds and saw beauty in everything. She considered her greatest accomplishment to be her family and was so very proud of them all. In her spare time she loved to knit and crochet, making gifts for family and friends. In her last year she enjoyed the closeness and comfort of living with her daughter and son in law. Watching the birds at the feeders, gazing at the stars and sampling new recipes as well as playing cards and the many visits she’d had from loved ones. She was proud to be a member of the Kingston Baptist Church and the Church Choir for over 65 years. Hazel became a member of the Myrtle Rebekah Lodge in 1950, was Past Noble Grand prior to merging with Evangeline Rebekah Lodge and was a charter member of the Legion Auxiliary, Kingston Branch No. 98.
She is survived by daughter, Elaine (Paul) Hoffer, Weston; son, Lester (Karen) Chute, Spruce Grove, AB; sister, Vivian Griffin, Berwick; grandchildren, Julie Veinot (Andrew Pineo), Lester Chute, Jr., Robin Chute; Laura Mattamana (Aril); special grandson, Doug Veinot; great grandchildren, Cory Veinot (Samantha), A.J. Watton, Kayden Veinot, MacKinlea Veinot, Cash Veinot, Tyler Brown, Todd Brown, Owen Brown; great-great granddaughter, Piper Veinot and several nieces and nephews. Special nieces Velora Gibson and Muriel Lutz.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Percy Chute, grandson Jason Dykens and brother, Lloyd.
Special thanks to Dr. Paul Mc Guire, Dr. Benjamin Heisler and to the VON (Cindy, Kim, Lisa, Shannon and Crystal). Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 12th at 2:00PM in the Kingston Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in the North Kingston Cemetery.
