      Velma Lois Hills — Surrounded by her family the death of Velma Hills, wife of the late Donald Hills occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, April 14, 2014. She was born on December 3, 1916 in Berwick, NS to the late Judson and Lottie (Chute) Rood. Velma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Germain Street Baptist Church and active in the church groups. Velma was also in the Ladies Auxiliary at the YMCA.
       Velma is survived by her children: Gordon Hills (Avis) of Rothesay and Pam Queen (Lloyd) of Quispamsis; grandchildren: Andrea Hills, Kelly Hills (Duane Parliament), Kathryn Daigle (Patrice), Dan Queen and Jeff Queen (Danielle); great-grandchildren: Alexander and Mackenzie Daigle and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; brothers: Cecil and Lindsay Rood and sisters: Margaret McConnell and Lillian McGibbon.
       Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425). There will be no public visitation. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Bay View Chapel on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 1:00 pm. For those who wish remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
