      DOWDING, Catherine Mary "Cathy" – 48, St. Margaret’s Bay, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2001, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Lillian Peters, Lewis Lake, and the late George A. Peters. She was a devoted and caring wife and mother. She was a graduate of Sir John A. MacDonald High School. She was a former Beaver Leader in St. Margaret’s Bay and was a founding member of the Safety Minded ATV club, a former Sunday School teacher at St. Georges Anglican Church, St. Margaret’s Bay. She worked at several community business for many years. She enjoyed outdoor activities including ATVing, hiking, boating and gardening. She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter, Amanda (Kimball), Head of St. Margaret’s Bay; sister, Linda, Janice, Riverport; brothers, Gordon, Lewis Lake; George (Marina), Dartmouth; Terry (Sylvia), Head of St. Margaret’s Bay, and many friends.
       No visitation. Cremation has taken place, a family service will take place at a later date. A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held Tuesday, April 3, from 6-8 p.m. at her home. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Tantallon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
